Yes, the speaker will only connect to one device at a time, but you can change between devices. If you have previously paired with a device, you may need to disconnect (forget) your Clearly on the original device before pairing with a new one.
Sure, if using the same device with multiple Clearly speakers look for a new ‘Clearly” in the Bluetooth list on your device. After the first pairing the speaker will stay listed in your device and be ready to pair the next time you turn it on. Occasionally, some devices may require you to delete or forget the previously connected speaker(s) before pairing with the new one.
No. The Clearly speakers work via Bluetooth for use with a compatible Bluetooth enabled device. However, they can also be used with non-Bluetooth devices by plugging in the included auxiliary cord. Your device has to have a compatible auxiliary output.
Your Clearly speaker has a rechargeable battery that lasts for approximately 6-8 hours of playing time. The length of playing time may vary depending on the sound level and what you are using the speaker to do (i.e. – Podcasts take up less battery life than music.)
Please note that the speaker will emit a tone to alert you when the battery is down to approximately 10%.
We recommend staying within 20 feet of the Bluetooth enabled device for best performance. However, the range may be considerably wider. When 2 Clearly are paired using the stereo function we recommend keeping the paired speakers within 15 feet of each other.

Yes, the light has 4 modes available. On, off, fade and pulse with the music. You can toggle between modes by clicking the “M” button on the bottom of the speaker. When using two Clearlys that are paired together you only have to change the light function on the lead speaker. The other speaker will automatically match the selection.
Navigate to your settings and activate Bluetooth on your device.
Within Bluetooth settings, scan for new Bluetooth devices.
Your device will recognize the speaker (“CLEARLY”). Click/tap the device name to pair the connection.
If your device requests a pairing code, enter “0000” or “1234” and confirm.
Upon successful pairing, your speaker will produce a tone and the LED will stop flashing and remain blue.
To Connect Two Clearly Speakers:
1. Turn on both speakers by pressing the power buttons on the front.
2. Press the Bluetooth Button on the Bottom of one of your CLEARLYs (the power button will flash green).
3. You will hear notes playing from your CLEARLYs when they find each other (2 – 3 seconds to find each other.)
4. Go to Bluetooth in Settings on your Bluetooth device and choose CLEARLY.
5. Your CLEARLY with the blinking light on the front is the lead speaker.
If you tried the steps above and the speakers will not connect, or you get a message that they are unable to pair with your device then follow the additional steps below.
Turn off the speakers.
Turn off the Bluetooth on your device. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.
Turn on the speaker(s)
Follow the connection steps listed in the section above.
After the first use, the two Clearly speakers will connect automatically when turned on. If the speakers are shared on other devices either individually or paired, they may not connect automatically to the original device again. Just repeat the steps above to re-establish the connections.
The speakers come with a charging cord. Plug the small end of the cord into the back of the clearly by lining it up with the opening and pushing it in. (rounded side down and flat side up) The USB logo on cord near the metal part should be facing up. It is normal for some of the metal on the cord to show. Then, plug in the other side (USB fitting) into a USB port on a computer, other device or a wall charging block similar to what is used with most cell phones. You will see the light on the front of the speaker turn red while charging.

Most problems can be solved with a simple Bluetooth reset. Turn off the Clearly(s), turn off the Bluetooth on your device for 30 seconds and then turn it back on, turn on the Clearly(s) and when you see the Clearly(s) in the Bluetooth list on your device click to connect.
Make sure your Clearly is charged and turned on. The blue light on the front of the speaker should be blinking rapidly which indicates your speaker is on and in Bluetooth search mode.
Make sure your Bluetooth device is within range and the Bluetooth is turned on and in search mode.
If you still cannot connect you may need to clear the speaker from a previous device. If you have paired the speaker with another device in the area disconnect and forget the speaker from that device and then try to pair again with the new device.
For example: If you have been using your Clearly(s) with your iPhone and want to connect the same Clearly(s) to your iPad you will either have to turn off the Bluetooth on your iPhone, move it out of the area or disconnect and “forget” the Clearly(s) from the iPhone before trying to connect to the iPad. The Clearlys are designed to pair back up with the last device they were used with and if that device is in the area it will prevent the Clearlys from pairing with a new device.
Turn off the Clearlys, disconnect and forget them from your device and try the pairing instructions again.
If you have followed the pairing instructions above and also have tried a simple Bluetooth reset and they still will not play together then check the items below.
Make sure both of the Clearly(s) are charged and turned on.
Check the left/right channel balance control on your device. If it is set to one side or the other only one speaker will play. Move it to the middle so your device will send sound to both channels.
Check to see if both speakers are connected to your device. The lead speaker should be the only one connected to your device. (the secondary speaker connects to the lead speaker) If you see both speakers listed as “connected” in your Bluetooth list then they will only play one at a time.
Refer to troubleshooting tips, the user manual or our support page for more how-to answers and detailed troubleshooting.
The speakers are designed to pair with only one device at a time. If you have paired to your phone in the past and then try to pair with another device like a tablet the speaker will seek to pair with your phone first and block it from pairing with the new device. Follow the steps below to correct.
Turn off the Bluetooth on your phone
Or, “disconnect” and “forget” the speaker from your phone
Or, move your phone to another area far enough away from the speaker so that it will not interfere with the pairing of the speaker and the new device.
We get this question from time to time and this is solved by following the steps below. Give them a try and you should be up and running in no time.
1. Make sure the cord and the charging port on the speaker are lined up properly. The small end of the charging cable goes into the speaker. There is a flat side and a rounded side on the metal part that goes into the speaker. When the speaker is upright the rounded side should face down and the flat side (the side with the USB logo on it) should face up towards the top of speaker.
2. Once lined up go ahead and push the cord into the speaker. You may need to use a little pressure and wiggle the cord slightly. You may also feel a slight click when the cord seats into the charging port.
3. It is normal for some of the metal part of the charging cable to still show even when the cord is properly inserted in the charging port.
4. The light on the front of the speaker will turn red to indicate the cord is attached properly and the speaker is charging.
Go into your phone’s Bluetooth settings and “Forget” and/or “Disconnect” from the speaker if it has been paired before. Also, do this with any other devices in the area that the speaker has been connected to before. (The speaker will automatically connect to the previous device and block it from pairing with the new device).
Turn off the Bluetooth on the phone for 30 seconds.
Turn the Bluetooth back on and place it in search mode.
Turn on the speaker and make sure it is not too far away.
When you see the speaker pop up in the Bluetooth list on your device click to connect. (Make sure the volume on the device is turned up and not on mute and the music is not paused).
The speakers may not be paired with each other. Repeat the steps for pairing 2 speakers together. If that does not help check the items below.
Make sure both speakers are charged and turned on.
If none of this solves the problem turn off the speakers, “forget” them from your Bluetooth settings, turn off your Bluetooth on your device for about 30 seconds then turn it back on and make sure it is in search mode the turn on the speakers and reconnect.
Check the left/right balance on your phone or device settings and make sure the slider is set in the middle and not to one side. See below for iPhones.
Apple has offered a left/right audio balance for several iOS releases, but it doesn’t make it obvious where to find it. It’s not in Sounds, but in Accessibility (Settings > General > Accessibility). Swipe down to the Hearing section, and you’ll find a number of options. All iOS devices can adjust left/right balance.
